Doris Chan Scarf

Recommended Posts

In the fall 2008 issue of Interweave Crochet, Doris Chan published a multiuse versatile pattern that could be used for skinny or regular scarves, shawls, or throws based on the number of pattern repeats used in the foundation. I tried this lovely pattern "Sweet Lorraine Lace Throw" which is a variation on the strawberry.

This was first Doris Chan pattern for me, which uses the foundation single crochet instead of chains, but she uses this effectively to create a scallop edge by using both sides of the foundation. For those who prefer diagram instructions, the diagram pattern is very easy to follow. It calls for Moda Dea Bamboo Wool, but I used a Mary Maxim acrylic. (pix is clickable)
