NeedSleep Posted December 5, 2008 I'm working on my first granny square and am confused by how to join the new color for the new round. I can join color by picking up the yarn and finishing a stitch with it, but how do you join a new yarn in a chain1 space?
0 magiccrochetfan Posted December 5, 2008 Crochet Cabana has several methods http://www.crochetcabana.com/tutorials/join-new-yarn_granny.htm Honestly, I usually start a new color by tying the new yarn onto a chain space with a single knot, then crochet over the end of the yarn. The knot looks like the beginning of a stitch. I know that breaks the "no knot" rule, but it works for me. The method where you put a slip knot on the hook and slip stitch from that works well, too. 0 Ldyjarhead Posted December 5, 2008 I join it with a slip stitch wherever the previous color leaves off, and if I need to put the first stitch of the new color further along, I slip stitch over to that point. Works great for me.
