Popcorns and Diamonds

I made this for my MIL for christmas. It is made with ILTY in Forrest Green with a H hook and is a little over 6ft long. I hope she likes it! It took me about two weeks to complete it, working on it for about 2 hours a night-this was the first time I had ever attempted any kind of cable stitch and also the first time I have used the popcorn stitch.

I think it turned out pretty nice...what do you think?

:blush Thank you everyone for the complements :blush

The pattern is actually called popcorns and diamonds (pattern by Becky Stevens) from The Crochet Yearbook (American School of Needlework) Volume 1 by Jean Leinhauser and Rita Weiss. It is a really good pattern book. I found my copy at my local used book store, it has patterns for all four seasons in it, everything from stuffed animals to sweaters.

As far as working with cables...I like it. Once I got used to the pattern it was easy and if you miss the stitch or count wrong you can tell immediately. I really love how cables look on a finished item anyway...so it was something I definately wanted to learn how to do.

Thanks again for the complements.

Wow! That was what I said aloud when I opened the link. DH was standing next to me and said the exact same thing. Very pretty and beautiful job.
