Classic Wizard Hat

I have crocheted many hats, but every one that I did came from a pattern. But this year's Halloween, my father asked me to make him a Grey Wizard hat. I immediately looked for a pattern, but each one was not really what he was looking for. So I sat down and began to make my own. I started from the tip and worked my way down. I ever so slowly added increases, trying to estimate how long it would be when it would finally fit around my fathers head. When it was finished, the brim worried me. The last thing I wanted was for this hat to turn out looking like a witch hat, but after finishing the brim, I was satisfied, it came out perfect and the whole family wound up loving it.
