Children 3 & 5 need afghans

As I posted in this thread http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=90519 I was horrified to find out two little boys my daughter watches on occasion were hospitalized after being beaten from head to foot. Thank heaven they are now safely in foster care. Their social worker has promised us to get any donations I get straight to them. They are 3 and almost 5 years old.

 

I'm collecting 10" squares in bright colors, any pattern. I'm thinking of making mine just simple grannies since we're all so busy right now.

 

Please PM or Email me here and I'll give you the info. I'd like to get them by the end of the year, so the boys have something nice once the holiday excitement is over.

I would like to make some squares. What kind of yarn would you prefer. I have Simply Soft brite yarn. Is that too thin?

 

Otherwise, I am SURE I have other yarns that would work.....lol....

Debbie, that should be just fine. Any worsted weight squares, solid or varigated will work. I grabbed some varigated last night that will go well with the solids.
