That's what I was thinking... if you didn't have old, worn out ones...

Maybe you'd have to add an elastic to the top...

 

These would make nice "slippers", the kinds with soles. Then you can wear them around the house and go outside on cold cement (or hot in the summer) and your feet would be fine.

Haven't tried it, but I'm a Croc lover and probably will. The difference between Crocs and off brands is firmness. Real and higher priced knock-offs are softer. The Wally World ones are very, very hard. This may or may not matter in the long run, but will definately make it a bit harder to put the holes in.

To get them to stay up, crochet them using double yarn. I made a purse this way once and it was very stiff.
