My first every doily

Okay - this is my first doily - it took me about 5 days to complete (working in evenings only). It's about 11.5" (supposed to be 13). I used a size 5 crochet hook and size 10 thread. Think it was Aunt Lydias. You all gave me the courage to try it!

LOL HomekeepingGran - yes, I'm definitely hooked on thread!!!! But I also love my yarn projects so I"m going to have to go back and forth.

I just finished it last night and my mom has been asking for a afghan - it was in Mary Maxim - and I adapted but she wants like 4.5" squares and it's taking forever! I'm committed to finishing it and I've told myself I can't start anything new until it's finished!

Great-looking doily and I love the color. As to your monotonous afghan, I tell myself if I finish a square, I can read a chapter in my book, or something of that sort. Bribing myself works for me.
