I am looking for a pattern to make a Christmas stocking made of thread

Any ideas?

I have tried some sites and goggle but came up with nothing

What size do you want. There are some out there for small stockings you hang on your tree, but I have not seen any that are large and done in thread.

Looking for one that would be able to hang on a mantle

I was going to enter into a Christmas stocking contest at my LYS and do one up in Crochet Thread. Size I was thinking of would be sz 10.

I was going to line the stocking with cranberry felt.

Right now still in planning stages.

I've been making stocking out of hexagons- 3 colors, 3 rounds, etc. This takes 25 hex in ww to do a large stocking- possible you could just make more hex and piece them together? I am pretty new to crocheting and have never worked with thread, but just an idea.
