Crochetville Retreat: Ideas for Optional Gift Exchanges

It's always fun to have an optional gift exchange at a retreat. Please share your ideas for the type of exchange you would like to participate in. Should we exchanged crocheted items? If so, what kind? Should we exchange yarn? Or general crochet gift baskets?

 

What should be the minimum and maximum dollar amounts to spend?

 

If we exchange crocheted items, should we require a minimum amount of time be spent on making the items?

 

How do we want to do the exchange? We could number the prizes and give each person a number. We could give each person a number, and as that number is called, that person could pick any gift they wanted that was still on the table. Do we want to run it like a "dirty Santa" exchange, where people can steal gifts from each other a certain number of times?

 

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

I think spending 25.00 to 30.00 on the items is good just like we do on the swaps here....

 

We could also have the items wrapped and when a number is called you get to pick which one you want without seeing what is inside first.

 

I love the Dirty Santa idea too
