Thrummed mittens

Here is my version of a thrummed mitten. I based it on a few different patterns I found on the web. You can take just a basic mitten pattern and knit in the roving "thrumbs" as you go along. It was a littly tricky to do...I'm not sure that the thrums are going to stay in place. I still have to knit the mate to this one.

 

 

This is what the inside looks like. From what I have read the roving will felt a little and make a really thick waterproof fabric. I hope so....it gets really cold here in the winter!

Great job! Please let us know if they really are that warm. I have some raw wool that I think would work...I was going to try and card it but I think I like this idea better.

I've never heard of that technique before. It does look like it would be very warm.

I've never seen them using rainbow roving, only white. Those are really cool!
