Dreadlocks Wig for Halloween

My 17-year-old son wanted a dreadlocks wig for Halloween this year. I'm never one to turn down a crochet project, and this is the result - crocheted with Red Heart Super Saver Black and a K hook. I just winged it - made a net cap. The dreads are a chain of 50 then sl st back down the chain. Done all in one piece except I did have to change skeins. I didn't measure the amount.

Awesome! I just love it. Was considering trying to make something like that for a co-worker who thought she'd lose her hair due to some medical treatments. Luckily, she didn't lose any. She'd have LOVED that wig though!

Cool dude! My son has asked for a jamacian tam with dreads, I just can't bring myself to even try, that is alot of chains in there! You must have the patients of a saint!
