Riverboat Gambler (Hat)

I just finished this hat and it's now my favorite - I wear it all the time. When my son-in-law saw it he called it my Riverboat Gambler. I liked the name, so it stuck.

 

Anyway, here are the details: The basic pattern is O.G. from the book "Get Your Crochet On! Hip Hats & Cool Caps". I modified it slightly - the top is formed differently than the book and I made the brim a little more firm with a finishing round of sc2tog (single crochet two together). This is the third hat I've made from this pattern and I'm now working on a fourth.
