I did mine in worsted weight and yes it fits an adult. I did one in simply soft and it was a little smaller but it still fit. I also did one in Jiffy which is a bulky and it fit fine too. I imagine the cotton doesn't have the give that ww does so it probably only fit a child but maybe i crochet more on the loose side:lol. It works up really fast.

You know the funny thing is when i seen this pattern the first thing i thought of was I have to make this for my niece, then i made one for the Breast Cancer basket at work, then my sister says I want one, etc. you know how that goes lol.
