snakey scarf

It's pretty camouflaged, but it is the colors (more or less) of a Ball Python. It's done sorta filet crochet. 1 skein of Red Heart variegated browns. Size G hook (I think).

It's a Christmas present for someone whose family doesn't like snakes, but he does. Maybe they won't notice what it *is*?

Now THAT's clever! I've heard of pulverizing onions and peppers to get the kids to eat them...but never heard of sneaking a snake into the house diguised as a scarf...verra clever indeed!:cheer

I made spaces for the outline of the body, and zigzagged it back and forth. It's not perfect, but it was ok. The tongue was just red yarn looped in place, and the eyes were black buttons sewn on. It's almost all double crochet. The orange in the closeup picture is what the scarf was lying on, I was trying to show the pattern, it's hard to photograph!
