? Edging on the Boteh Scarf

Ok, I just don't get it. I did it the way the instructions said and it "pulled" it much too tight. I have looked at pics from everyone else's and it seems like some people modified the edging. If you have made one, can you help me out, I love this scarf and can't wait to wear it for Fall.

After much frustration I ended up just doing a sc around the scarf. Not what the pattern called for, but any how.............

I didn't post here yesterday because I couldn't remember exactly what I did, although I have a pretty good idea that I ended up winging it for the border as well. I love using my two Boteh scarves, though--I'm sure your border will work!

Thanks ladies! I think the next time I will just leave the border off ( I have not quite finished it and I may end up frogging if I am not happy with the sc. It really is a fun and unique pattern!
