I used two strands of size 10 thread held together, crocheted with (I think) a size 3 hook.

 

I didn't really design a pattern--by which I mean, a set of instructions--I designed a (pretty basic) purse. When I think of trying to write it all down in clear, step by step instructions, that seems harder than making the purse!
