Stretchiness?

I want to make (crochet)a strap for my banjo.

Hubby is afraid the yarn would stretch out to much with useage.

Thoughts? Opinions? Jeers? :computer

i would use a non stretchy thing to make it with.. like nylon cord or hemp cord for jewelry .. something of that sort .. you could even go and get some of that really brightly coloured thin rope from Lowes or wherever and it wouldnt cost too much .. something of that sort i think would work just fine but using a yarn that has stretch.. i dont think that would work too well

What if you used fishing line and yarn held together:?

fishing line still has some stretch..it would help though ..

I knew I had seen a knitted guitar strap at Knitty.com once and I tracked it down. She has a lining on it to keep it from stretching!!

cool! my son plays guitar and with his being only 7 it's difficult to find straps that are short enought for him.....

hmmm, since i can knit now.....:ideanot

 

any yarn you would suggest for a strap for a boy?
