Welcome to C'ville! Most requests I see for comfortghans are 8 and 12 inch squares. There's a ton of patterns out there and Rachel at Crochet Pattern Central has them organized by size. My favorite 12 inch squares are by Chris Simon and my favorite smaller squares are from Dayna's crochet. Also, check the original patterns threads, there are some lovely squares there too. Hope that helps.

I am newbie, and I do not have enough posts. I would really like to start working on sqaures to have on hand in the future to send to those that need. Is there a certain pattern you follow for lapghans? What is the customary colors needed? Any answers would be extremely helpful. Thanks...:crocheting

Have mine made it there yet? I mailed 2 squares to you on Tuesday or Wednesday last week.

I don't believe so. Things take forever to get here. Esp around the beginning of the month as most of the town is retired people getting their check in the beginning of the month. I do hope they get here.

I think it's great that the boys decided how they want the blanket used. What a great, cheerful way to use it too. Thanks for the update, I was just thinking about these while playing around on Ravelry the other day.

Hi all! I just wanted to let you know what was going on with these. Over the summer the boys (all but the oldest actually) grew a lot. My 9 year old now wears a mans medium (he's not 'fat' he is all muscular & tall). Anyhow I asked them what to do with the squares. We decided to make a big blanket to use at the beach. Most of their specialists are now in San Diego. After all visits (except surgeries & procedures that they get knocked out for) we go to the beach. They hope that is ok. I said I am sure it will be as the reason I asked for the squares where to go to their doctors anyhow. If all goes well I will have all 63 squares assembled & we will use it for the first time on October 7th. :D Here are some pictures I just took to see how I can put the blanket together.

The first picture is how Jeremy says it needs to go. The second is Jeremy helping me put squares where they should go.
