Virginia Tech blanket

My brother has requested that I make a Virginia Tech blanket for his new baby. I can't find a pattern for one anywhere! I have looked and looked. He's never asked me to make anything for him and I really want to give him what he's asked for. I even tried making a pattern, but I couldn't get it to work out the way I wanted. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks!

Or find a regular pattern you like, for instances a ripple, and use the school colors.

I tried to graph one myself, didn't turn out to well. I can follow a pattern, never tried to make one before. My big problem is he actually wants the VT on the blanket. Thanks though.

The only thing I can think of would be to crochet an afghan using single crochet and then cross-stitch "VT" over the top.
