What hooks do you use for what yarn?

I like aluminum for most stuff, plastic works for acrylic (but not cotton), and the plastic balene II for super saver. I'd love one of the sterling silver hooks I found online, but that'd cost more than the yarn I'd use on it:hook

Stainless steel for thread, aluminum for most other projects, plastic when traveling or for patterns requiring size L or larger.

Would love to have a wood hook, but they are out of my budget.

I filet crochet, which requires steel hooks (they are not in anything else but...)

but my stash includes wood hooks, which I find not only soothing, but nice and warm during our very cold, winter months.

 

I began a chapter of Warm-Up America in our remote region,

and taught the students, to use a "Light hook" with dark colors

and a "Dark hook" with light colors...they could see their work easier as they were learning, which you only find in aluminum.
