killer hat pattern

here is the "pattern" for my hat

i used WW yarn and an I hook, and an H hook for the edge. it comes out kinda big, i will say "man size". so if you wanna use a size smaller hook thats cool. it uses 2 colors but mostly just one, the red is only one round.

 

Pattern:

 

with main color, ch4, join with sl st to form ring (use the magic ring if you chain loosely or you will have a hole)

 

Round 1) ch1, 16 hdc in ring. join with sl st to 1st hdc.

Round 2) ch1, 2 hdc in same st as joining. *make FPDC in next hdc, hdc in same st. 2 hdc in next st. rep from * around, ending with make FPDC in next hdc, hdc in same st. join with sl st to 1st hdc. (6 FPDC)

Round 3) ch1, hdc in same st. 2 hdc in next st, *FPDC in next FPDC. hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next, hdc in next. rep from * around, ending with 2 hdc in last st. join with sl st to 1st hdc.

Round 4) ch1, hdc in same st and in next. 2 hdc in next st, *FPDC in next FPDC. hdc in each of next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next, hdc in each of next 2 sts. rep from * around, ending with 2 hdc in last st. join with sl st to 1st hdc.

Round 5 ch1, hdc in same st and in next 2 sts. 2 hdc in next st, *FPDC in next FPDC. hdc in each of next 3 sts, 2hdc in next, hdc in each of next 3 sts. rep from * around, ending with 2 hdc in last st. join with sl st to 1st hdc.

Round 6) repeat in increase pattern.

Rounds 7-11) work stitch for stitch, FPDC's in FPDC's, no increases.

Round 12) ch1, hdc in same st and next. * work FPDC in corresponding st 2 Rounds down. hdc in next st, FPDC in corresponding st 2 Rounds down. hdc in next st, FPDC in next FPDC. hdc in each of next 7 hdc's. rep from * around. (18 FPDC's)

Round 13) work stitch for stitch, FPDC's in FPDC's, no increases.

Round 14) work same except make extra FPDC cables (1 in each section) after the 1st 3, working pattern. make sure to work in corresponding st 2 Rounds down.

Round 15) work stitch for stitch.

Round 16) work same except make extra FPDC cables (1 in each section) before 1st 4, working in pattern.

Round 17) work stitch for stitch.

Round 18) work same except make extra FPDC cables (1 in each section) in last "open" st between free 3 hdc. (you will have sts alternating between hdc and FPDC)

Round 19) work stitch for stitch.

Round 20) switch to contrasting color, using H hook. work same pattern, switching hdc's for sc's and FPDC's for FPHCD's

Rounds 21-22) switch back to main color, work stitch for stitch.

Fasten off, weave in ends.
