Divine Hat

Cocoa Cream

Recommended Posts

Here's a pretty winter hat I just finished for the fun of it. (I needed a break from a larger project, so I decided to make a hat!) The pattern is found here, if you are interested, as well as some other nice patterns elsewhere on the site. I like the spiral effect, and I could see making this hat again, only with a small hook as it turned out a bit too large. Link to photo and blog post below:

Thanks for looking!

Oops! Forgot to mention what yarn I used! It's Caron Simply Soft in White. I used a K hook, but I am currently reworking it with a J...it was just too loose!

That's such a cute hat! I love the pattern....I think I'm going to try to work it up but I have a couple of questions...how many chains did you use for your beginning ring? It doesn't specifically say! I think I'm going to use a bulky yarn that I have so the hook size shouldn't be too loose, plus I had planned on using it for a hat anyway!

Christina, I actually learned a new technique called the "adjustable ring" to start the hat. I'm guessing that's what the pattern's designer used since no starting chain is mentioned. The link to the tutorial I used is on my blog, but I'll include it here as well. It is from our very own admin. Donna! http://crochetme.com/Dec_Jan_0405/reads_round.html
