I was looking at the photos that were posted and it looks like the top part isn't attached. The bottom doesn't look like it's sewn, but maybe she has it glued to the bottom (?). I would think that the bottom, at least, would have to be attached.

I know there is a very similar pattern on the Maggie's Crochet site. If you type in 'turtle' in the search box it should come up. (That's what I did, and it came up for me.) I think it's in with a baby washcloth pattern set or something... I am tempted to buy it, I think that's so cute! Here is a direct link.
