my first socks!

Thsi is my first try at crocheted socks! I love how they turned out! I used 100% wool sock yarn that I ordered from ebay. I know that your supposed to use yarn with a bit of nylon in it but I feel in love with this yarn color. I did a swatch first and washed and dried it in hot water and a hot dryer and it shrunk about 1/8 inch per inch. So I sized accordingly. The pattern I used was for the "Crocheted Socks!" book and I used the "Easy Does It" pattern. They were easier than I thought they woudl be to make. I think they turned out pretty darn good if I don't say so myself! (What a bragger!)

Your socks rock! I don't know why people keep saying socks have to have nylon, I have made wool socks just fine also 100 percent cotton without trouble as well. I don't dry mine in the dryer though I always hang them in the bathroom. My cotton socks still fit just fine even though the 'experts' said they would stretch out and be unwearable.
