what does this mean (Scdec,sc in next 4 sts)twice

i am working on the brim for this pattern for a newsboy cap i found. but i am lost on the brim can someone help the link is http://www.yarncat.com/newsboy_cappatt.html

 

my problem is with the brim. it says

row 2-10 is a straight 36 sc stiches.

Row 11:(Scdec,sc in next 4 sts)twice,(scdec,sc in next 3 sts)twice,(scdec,sc in next 4 sts)twice,scdec(29 sts).Ch 1,turn.

does this mean i single crochet dec then sc and do this over 4 stiches for do this 4 times and then repeat.

any help would be helpfull:clap

You're going to do a sc decrease, sc sc sc sc, sc decrease, sc sc sc sc. When there are (and) followed by a number, you're going to do what's in the () that number of times.

You have 36 stitches in sc so first you do a sc decrease (over 2 scs) then sc in next 4 scs, then do another sc decrease(over 2 sc), then 4 scs, then sc decrease, then 3 scs, sc decrease then 3 scs

etc

You do your sc decrease over two scs.
