wacky NY hat

My brother and his friends are tail-gaters and his friend has a very young son. A month ago I made the three year old a hat and just for fun put a big NY on the front. Well the grown ups all saw it and now they all want one. It kind of surprised me that the guys all want hats with tassels on them and points that look like cat ears when you wear it... but whatever. The hat was a super simple pattern and the letters I just made in pieces then appliquéd to the front.

 

I gave one each to my sib and his gf for Christmas. The little boy's father and uncle want them too.
