In reference to the lapsquares, I'm wondering if they "have" to be square? I love making round ripples and one of this size range would work up so quick! (Sorry if this has aready been addressed... too many pages to read through! ;))

EDITED TO ADD: I also meant to ask if a lacey pattern would be okay for the scarves?

Hi April! Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days! To answer your questions.....the "squares" do NOT have to be square, lol! RR's are wonderful! Actually, that's what I usually make! I love RR's! And for the scarves, a lacey pattern would be fine! You can use any pattern that you feel is suitable. I just discourage very skinny scarves. :hug

Hi Ann! I was wondering how you are doing? Any better yet? I do hope the fever is gone! :hug

Hi Jessica! Thanks for asking! I am doing some better now. It sure has been a slow process! :( I still run a temp of anywhere from 99 to 100.4 most days, it depends if I do anything or not, lol. If I sit around and do nothing my temp is fine, if I do the dishes or put in a batch of laundry...up it goes :think.( and down I go because I'm wiped out!) The drs don't seem to be concerned, so I'm not. Maybe this is my "new" body temp! YIKES!

Enough about me, lol! Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful and safe Memorial Day Weekend!!!!:hug:hug:hug

Well, there you go! It's the housework that's making you sick! :rofl Sorry, couldn't resist. I will be working on some scarves this summer, to hot for afghans, and will get some out to you. Just can't promise when. Have to finish the 20 for the vets in nursing home first.

:lol That's why I avoid housework at all costs, lol! I do as little as possible and my house shows it! :blush

Thank you in advance for the scarves. I'll be here ready and waiting when you can send them...:hug

I do not think having fevers is normal. I could be wrong though. However my fevers are part of Lupus. Ever since I could remember though I got fevers for no reason. :shrug Just don't kill yourself woman!

I will be making more scarves after I move. Scarf making is on hold till sometime in June. :D

Hi Everyone!

Well, I delivered 35 scarves, 8 wristbands, 1 set of fingerless gloves, and 6 lapsquares this morning!!! THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!! :hug

I feel so humbled and honored every month when these lovely donations come in. It's so wonderful to see them as they come in individually, but them again I see them as they are wrapped and put together for the month. You are all such talented people! I know that the survivors that recieve your creations can feel the love that goes into them. We are making difference!

I've been trying to post pics of them, but I'm having a hard time with the new system, lol! It seems my pics are too big :think. I'll keep trying and post them as soon as I figure it out! Sorry for the delay! :(

:hi Ann! Looks like I cannot send scarves until the fall. I was going to work on a bunch this month after I got everything together in my new place. But last week my purse got stolen. So in July I must pay 2 months of bills. SO I will just wait to send the summer ones I do & the fall ones until fall sometimes ok?

I hope you are feeling better!!

Oh Jessica! I'm so sorry about your purse! I don't know what I'd do if mine got stolen. I hope things go more smoothly for you in your new place! Don't worry about the scarves. I'll still be here and needing them in the fall or whenever you can send them. :hug:hug:hug

Jessica, I'm also so sorry to hear about your purse. I'm with Ann, I don't know what I'd do if someone took mine. My house was broken in and I lost all my jewelry and some money I had in the house but I had my purse with me. Trying to replace the ID and credit cards must be hard.

Hello everyone,

After a hectic couple of months, I'm slowly getting my head back on straight. Have three scarves finished and they're draped over the back of the dining room chairs. DH just said, "Oho - back to normal, I see!" :lol I'm going to keep going till I have 9 or 10, then send them off.

Sorry to hear about your purse, Jessica. However bad it is to lose money, replacing all the cards is such a hassle on top of it ...:(

It's been hard. The worst is getting my ID replaced. I carry my money in my bra now too. :lol

:lol That's a good place to carry money, LOL!!! I can just imagine the looks you get when you get to the registers to pay:lol

Glad to hear that things are settling down for you. Thanks for the scarves!

I've finally been feeling more like my "old" self again and have been on a scarf making roll lately! :cheer I really need to push myself to get more done. I keep telling myself one a day, but I'm lucky to get 2-3 a week done. I'm not a very good leader am I, lol! Oh! I tried a new pattern from the Lion Brand site! It's the waffle stitch scarf. The pattern was a little confusing to start, but the scarf is really nice! I finally finished it last night! I want to figure out how to make it into a blanket. It would be a great blankie!!!

This scarf looks especially warm and snuggie. :yes

Oh, it is! I came out a little wider than I thought it would. I'd like to figure out how to make it just a tad narrower next time, but I will definitely make this one again for the winter months.

Hi everyone! Not much going on, but I thought I'd practice posting some pics, lol! Here are the scarves I've been working on this month. The waffle stitch one in the middle of the first pic is the lionbrand pattern I told you about. The other pic is a lionbrand pattern too! Hope everyone is doing well! :hug

Hi Ann - like the scarves. I'll have to check the lion brand ones out.

I know I haven't been around lately but I'm back. I'm 3/4 complete of the scarf I've been working on. I got a new pattern book and saw this and thought it would make a nice scarf and it actually turned out to be an easy pattern and I like the scarf.

Hi Pat!!! Good to see you! :clap Hurray for new pattern books, lol! I'm always scoping out the lionbrand patterns, but rarely try them. I finally decided to give it a try! They were pretty easy, but the second one did have a typo, not too hard to figure out though.

Hello girls!

My MIL gave me a bag of yarn (does she not realise we're trying to move HOUSE?! :lol ) So I'm systematically working my way through it to make scarves. She gave me about 8 skeins of creamy-yellow acrylic yarn that must be aboout ten years old (the price on them is in Deutschmarks and the currency changed to euros in 2002 :lol ). I was thrilled at first but I'm now on my third cream scarf and I want to see some COLOURS!!! The weird thing is, the yarn is soft in the skein but not as soft when crocheted up, so I'm going to have to wash it to make it all soft'n'cuddly. Anyway, I now have 5 done and it's full steam ahead so I can fill a box before we move house at the end of July...

... but it's so hot and sticky... the yarn is sticking to my elbows and fingers (yup, all the more reason to wash those scarves :lol )

Hello Ladies, how's everyone doing? Olivia, you always amaze me at how you make the scarves so quickly. How's the move coming along? My scarf turned out pretty good and I'm looking for another pattern although I think I just found it so I'm off and crocheting. We are spending the day at the racetrack/casino tomorrow and we will be there for the entire day because they are suppose to be having the biggest fireworks show on the east coast and if you're not there early, you aren't going to get there. I told my DBF I'm bringing my crochet because I'm not staying in the casino all day. I can go sit in the park and crochet for awhile. The weather should be great for it so I'm looking for a very relaxing day.
