Cool story....this afghan pattern is from around 1974-76.

I made one of these way back when as well.

I don't remember who I gave mine to or if I sold it at a craft fair. Mine was done in different shades of greens and white.

I have the pattern somewhere in my crochet library.

It's a granny square gone straight pattern. Or that's

what they called it back then. :lol:lol

Looks great! I like the idea of strips instead of squares. I would love to join a CAL but I just went through a bunch of my worsted making ROAK squares and don't have nearly enough for a blanket.
