Two 'Rose Garden' afghans

These are a pattern my MIL taught me. I've seen something similar in a pattern book but it was slightly different. She doesn't really work from written patterns she just thinks it up and does it but she was able to teach me how to do this one and it really makes a nice decor peice.

(Edit: the links should be working now)

This first one was done with RHSS Holly & Ivy with solid Claret and Buff colored roses:

This second one was done with RHSS Painted Desert with with Blue and Cherry Red roses:

The pictures are a little dark because the camera was in it's last throes at that time...:hook

It comes up for you because it's your album and it's in your computer history.

We're getting Photobucket's main page with a page can't be found message. Copying and pasting won't fix that.

Either you are giving the wrong URL or you've removed the pictures.

I also tried http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3... (removing Picture[#].jpg) and got a password screen saying your album is private.

Her album is private but you can still directly link to photos and have others see them. I do it all the time and all my albums are private.

Both are very pretty, but I love the first one! The varigated "background" is very pretty!

Thank you! This pattern was the whole reason why I wanted to learn to crochet. When my MIL showed me some she had made I was just amazed. I'd never seen anything like that done with crochet before. Since she didn't have a written pattern I wanted to learn how to do it so I could preserve the knowledge.:hook

I love it when people can just create stuff with no patterns. People look at what I do and tell me I'm creative. My response is "Thank you, but I follow instructions/patterns very well!" Yes there is a measure of creativity involved in just doing it, but to me, the real, true creative people are those who create the patterns for me to follow :D

They look great...funny how changing the color changes the look !!! Thanks for sharing !!!

Yeah changing the colors make a completely different look, I made one of these for myself using RHSS Bikini as the flower color then 5 different coordinating solids for the backgrounds to the blocks, then put it together and did the border with Bikini...it looks totally different from those two.
