OK, this is a simple pattern but I can't figure out row 2

 

3SC loosely in first chain 5 loop. *chain 5, SC in next chain 5 loop.

 

what does "loop" mean?

You made a loop with your chain 5 (your chain 5 is the loop) in the previous row, just sc in the middle of it. Hope this helps
