I will give this a try -- I really love snowflakes :flake(haven't done much with thread before), although it means dragging out the reading glasses. Turned 40 and suddenly I am holding things way out to see them!

Baha...don't feel bad, my dear, I'm 21 and I find myself wishing more and more that I had enough free cash to go through with my idea to get my optometrist to make me a pair of clip-on magnifying lenses. My frames come with clip-on sunglasses, and when I bought them I had the notion that it would be a wonderful idea to buy an extra set of the clip sunglasses, since the frames do come apart, and have low level magnifying lenses put in for just this sort of occasion. In other words I like tiny crafts sometimes and I'm about bat blind, lol. :hook

Jewelriers have them. and they even flip up too like some of the aviator clip on sunglasses, but they are expensive.

Hiya!

You asked for it, you got it... clicky pics of that pesky motif 4003 completed :clap.

(Thanks for the motivation, Carla :hug)

th_DSC04204.jpg

th_DSC04205.jpg

It is not blocked and it is a bit uneven (to do with stitch count, I think, so will probably not come out with blocking)... but it is done! It definitely worked up more easily with the size 10 Cebelia! I think I was getting the knack of the back and forth stuff by the end, possibly a second one would come a bit easier.

Cosmo, if you like I could send it to you to study up close and personally... just let me know if you're interested...

Happy :crocheting to all of us :flakes :D:hook

I knew you'd "get it"! I'd love to see it. Thank you so much for the offer.

I should warn you though- I don't see anytime soon that I'll have to work on it.

Halloween is right around the corner and I have 11 costumes to make: at least 5 Smurfs and whatever the rest of them decide on - I told them they're running out of time!

:fire regards,

11 Costumes!!!! :eek:2eek:faint

Ditto from me :nworthy:nworthy:nworthy

No worries about not having time to work on it... no telling when I'll actually get time to post it :rofl and I wont be asking for it back :lol...

Just don't send it off to anyone else before you have a chance to figure out what you can from it :P

Any chance your barbarian beanie counts as one of your costumes?

Cheers!

Nope, that was hubby's b-day gift. :lol

The hardest part about costumes is picking a theme. I don't buy my nieces and nephews b-day gifts. Since they were small I've always made their costumes for them as their gift. Now they are grown and married with kids (do chichiwawas count as kids? - yes - one of the kids is 8 inches tall and willl be a Smurf with the rest of his family!) of their own.

In case you haven't guessed Halloween is a big deal at my house! :D

Hi, everyone. I did it! :jumpyay I posted the Texas Snowflake in the original patterns section under "Snowflakes by Busy-Bee-LMT." I haven't got a picture of it yet because of the home computer problems, but at least the pattern is there. Hope you all enjoy it. :bow

I miss all of you. John has found someone at work who is going to come out to the house and try to fix the computer. Don't know just when, but at least there is hope in sight. :manyheart

Yea, Linda!

Thanks for the pattern. It's great to hear from you and I'll be doing my "fix it dance" for your computer.

Certainly :)

I got booted from my computer before I had a chance to update the list, I'll try to do it later today when my children are away...

4003 has arrived in Pennsylvania! It was accompanied by some very potent magic dust:2magic - I can't be sure but I think it was happy to arrive in the northern hemisphere - That may have something to do with the beautiful "Happy Spring" card it traveled here in.

Thank you Wanda!

You're da best!

:clap:yay

:lol You know what? I think I meant to include some confetti as "magic dust", but forgot by the time the front of the card dried and I packed it up :rofl so if I mentioned something about not being annoyed by the :mdust, I was not as completely off my rocker as you may have thought :lol, just forgetful...

I think it is very pleased to be in North America, I could swear I heard the strains of "It's too darned hot" coming from that card!

Cheers,

Hi Everyone,

I'm having a problem getting this link to post. I really like this pattern and thought it might make a good candidate for this week's flake - let's see if I can post it now.

http://www.geocities.com/sgator/fancystarflake.pdf

If you can see it, what do you think? Week 40?

If anyone else has one they'd rather post please do. Seems like I've been posting lots of them lately, and I don't want to be hogging the picks! We can always save this one for another week. ....

:fire regards,

Hi all,

Since Linda is having computer problems I thought I'd a post a pic of my version of her snowflake pattern from last week. Once she's back and can post her own I'll move mine to show and tell.

I hope I did her pattern justice.

Ooooooo, ahhhhhhhh,

:clap

Lovely work, Cosmo! Lovely pattern, Linda...

I haven't had a chance to work it yet and was having trouble picturing it, I was hoping you would post a pic, Cosmo! I knew I could count on you!

(Don't tell anyone as they think I'm the best, but really the kudos goes to you! I think the pink rinse is penetrating to my brain... throwing off the :2magic! Maybe it needs to be a bit more fuschia and less magenta? HMmmmm :think)

Your suggestion looks great! I am getting behind in all areas of life at the moment :faint As if I didn't have enough on my crochet plate at the moment, I'm testing a doll's dress over at Lullabies and Lace. I need to reign myself in and FOCUS :spin FOCUS! :eek

I edited the link so that we just go to her free patterns page and click to the .pdf file from there. It can be tricky if you directly link to the .pdf file sometimes...

Cheers,

:mdust:mdustWanda:mdust:mdust
