busy-bee-lmt Posted August 13, 2008 Hi, everyone. I did make it home safe and sound and in one piece. Unfortunately, somethings changed with the internet carrier and/or the microsoft security program we have and I have been totally unable to get onto the internet from home since returning. It looks like it's going to take a Geek squad visit or help from Microsoft to get us hooked up again, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to get my stuff posted. Good luck to everyone who's participating in the Crochet Games.

marikamum Posted August 15, 2008 Welcome back, Linda I hope Cosmo's magic dust fixes up your computer problems (though I have my doubts about computers and dust and the like, but, that Cosomo, always trying to help ...). I just got the sweetest PM from Suzi, who designed the snowflake for week 28 - it gave her a warm fuzzy that we were doing her flake on the CAL, and she should be posting this year's pattern sometime (soon, we hope, Suzi )... There you go, not only are we preparing ornaments, having fun chatting together, loving snowflakes, etc... we are also doing good deeds that are making the world a happier, better place Man, we're good! Happy crocheting, y'all! Cheers,
Carla J Posted August 15, 2008 Marika. That's so neat about Suzi! Ummm ... we have to wait for the pattern... Now I have to make sure I don't step on my bottom lip. Oh I found this neat idea about if you have a hard time holding the steel crochet hooks, http://www.crafthands.com/services.html. I already tested it out with an old size 11 Killarney hook that was my MIL's. I didn't use the gel grips as shown, I used a fat click pen that was out of ink. And to make sure the needle was study the I put the spring that goes on the out side of the ink (thing) around the hook before attaching the inserting the hook in the body of the pen and the bottom of the pen on to hold the hook in place. It actually works! So cool. (oops showing my age) Now if there could be a fix for the eyes when looking through one of those magnifyers that go around your neck and make one sea sick from the movement of ones hands or for being slightly out of focus.... without Dramamine... busy-bee-lmt Posted August 16, 2008 Hi, everyone. Still working on the computer problem, but I may be getting closer to a solution. I've got the settings right for the carrier now, but have to get in touch with Microsoft Customer Service to make some changes to the security setup & then hopefully it will work. Keep your fingers crossed.

Carla J Posted August 16, 2008 Good Morning Marika! I have had my cappuccino already and have switched to cola in my enableing crochet addicts around the world 'ville cup. That's were I keep my MOJO. I found that I didn't crochet as much if I didn't use it. I am sure that is because it is the big 13 oz one....
wynterwren Posted August 17, 2008 Ladies! I've finished posting this year's snowflake offering on my pattern pages...I have yet to blog about it, but the web site part of the process is over! I appreciate your consideration and by no means expect you to use this pattern, I'm just tickled to find fans! Since my usual pattern tester is not available right now, I've gone through the pattern several times reading it. I'm not sure that helps as I've been making this pattern for several months and can pretty well do it my sleep! http://hometown.aol.com/stitchvvwitch/page16.html Thanks again... missmaxx Posted August 26, 2008 (edited) Hi Everyone, It's good to be here. Thank you Wanda, I'd like to say congratulations to everyone who participated in the games. It was fun. But now I can hear the snowflakes calling. I plan to make doubles from here on out. Hookerangel can use some for her daughter's wedding and I'm thinking they'll be nice in some of my christmas cards too. I hope to get time to go back and make some more of our previous designs too. I have to say that every time someone sees my snowflake notebook (it's a 3 ring binder filled with our patterns in sheet protectors - and finished/stiffened snowflakes) somehow the original designs get singled out as the nicest ones. So my hat's off to Marika, Linda, Carla, and Suzi. Please take a bow. (And if I've missed someone on that list please forgive me - I've been up too long today!) I'm going to look for my snow shovel - I plan on needing it very soon. Let's make some snow, :flake:flake:flake:flake:flake:flake:flake Edited August 26, 2008 by missmaxx
marikamum Posted August 27, 2008 Here we go, flaking again THough, now I have gotten my size 11 hooks I'll need to get stuck back into the angel, at least on rotation ... I am thinking of trying to see if the local craft cooperative thinks some snowflakes might sell, I am thinking of signing up with them as a consignee to experiment with selling things through their shop... Cheers!
