busy-bee-lmt Posted July 28, 2008 Hello, ladies. In your honor I have created another snowflake which I will call my Texas snowflake since I dreamt it up while here in Texas. It's big, 5-6" in diameter, with a solid center and rather lacy outside. I'll take a picture of it and post the directions for it when I get back to Georgia. It won't be ready for next week, but should be up for the following week. I want to get all my flakes posted before the Olympics start on the 8th. Have a great week! missmaxx Posted July 28, 2008 Sounds like a great plan. I'm sure we'll all be looking forward to seeing it. Have a safe trip.

marikamum Posted July 30, 2008 Carla, you're good. You join us and bring a present! -- Thanks Nancy, but you are making me and my head . When you and Marika do such lovely work! ! from me, too, Carla -- Thank you Marika. How is the weather in AU? It is sultry here in SC.:fan I should probably say that the 'flakes are made but need to be stiffened. I finished 6 and I've started on 7. ( to catch up, but hard when here at the ville ) Hey Carla, it is actually quite nippy here in Oz and cold and flu season, too - I'm just getting over a nasty one and my 5 yo daughter seems to have caught it and is home from school today Linda, the Texas flake sounds great - is it bigger than all the rest ? I just got myself a ball of white Cebelia 10, I am hoping it will make flakes my portable project, my great big ball of thread was a bit bulky for throwing in my bag for on-the-go crocheting. Cheers,

SHe insisted on including this one just 'cause she liked it. BTW, I love your new avatar, what a cutie . Happy crocheting
missmaxx Posted July 31, 2008 BTW, I love your new avatar, what a cutie . Happy crocheting You and your daughter have very good taste! I like that one :wootoo. And thank you for the compliment on my avatar. She has a few other names too.... like when I called her "sweetie", she mis-heard and replied with a hand on her hip - full of 4 year old indignation, "And, Don't call me Tweety!" ......... Her big sister (age 5) calls her "The EM-AN-A-TOR"" ......... Her Grandma (my sister) calls her "Emmy Lou Who" ......... But she's really just our Emma
busy-bee-lmt Posted July 31, 2008 Nancy, your Emma is adorable. Such a sweet picture. Marika, hope you both feel better very soon. We head back to Georgia tomorrow morning. We'll get to Twin Lakes Saturday late afternoon and meet John there. Then it's home to Cumming on Sunday afternoon. I'm ready. The visit with Kim's grandchildren has gone well, but a month is a long time to be gone.
missmaxx Posted July 31, 2008 Howdy Linda, When you get back I'll have to stop talking "Texan". Please carefully. And thanks for the compliment about my Emma. But now big sister is demanding equal time. I'll have to work out a schedule.... sheeeeesh!

missmaxx Posted August 4, 2008 Thanks Marika, It's a nice one. I hope to get it finished today and maybe look around for patterns to save for the next two weeks. The games are almost here and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be buried in rectangles for the 16 days. (OK, there isn't a smilie for that. This is the closest I could get.) I'll survive. I'm just wondering, "What the heck was I thinking??????? 100 rectangles in 16 days!" And now Karen's got me "hooked" on trying a painted doily. I love it. So many projects.............. to H**l with the housework . Hubby and I just celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary - he'll have to put up with a little more crochet clutter and less clean everything! At least till I have 100 rectangles. I don't think he's going anywhere. Happy crocheting,

I think I got embrodery floss to experiment with for angel pins. And some DVD's, no :popcorn as we already have that at home. Housework? What's that? I didn't know there was such a word. missmaxx Posted August 4, 2008 Hi Carla, Thanks. Hubby always says I've been married to him for 33 years and he's been married to me 33 years so together we've been married 66 years. And, believe me, sometimes it seems like it! But mostly, it's been a great 66 years. :bheart Congratulations on your 30th! Happy crocheting,

marikamum Posted August 4, 2008 You guys are too funny I guess that makes us just over the 16 year mark? Nancy, good luck with the rectangles... yes, I think you are a BIT challenged for that one I am getting ready, I have finished making my chart (will send you a copy when I can locate a copier and fiddle for it to take the size ). Carla, Thanks for the health wishes, we are slowly recovering, everyone is back to the usual activities, though. Cross fingers for me, I am teaching my first adult ed classes today (I had to call in sick for my first session last week oh, the horror!) Intro to Computers and Intro to Computers for Seniors ... Heh heh heh, I have outsourced the housework , though of course that meant running around like a headless chicken this morning cleaning up for the cleaners , ah well... Cheers,

Cheers, Congratulations on your 16th! Challenged? You bet! I hope I've made it clear - the 100 are guaranteed - I don't really expect to finish them in 16 days - but I'm going to give it one "heck" of a try! Good luck with your angel and tree. I'll be looking for pics. Good luck too with your new class. I'll bet it will go great - lucky you, a fun job and help with the housework! WTG!
missmaxx Posted August 5, 2008 Carla, Good luck in the games with your haekelbeutel bag project. I'll be watching for pics from you too. :cheer:cheer:cheer:cheer:cheer:cheer:cheer
Carla J Posted August 5, 2008 Nancy. I have studied the pattern and found another pattern suspiciously simular to the original posted. It used different colors but showed the construction differently. The one from the CAL hear is a bit easier to understand. I have written and tested my "square" for one of the squares I am going to use and have the patterns printed off the internet that I am going to intersperse. So I guess It will be a Patchwork haekelbeutel bag? I've practiced 2 of the squares. There are two more I am going to practice. I may even have a simple applique I designed included too. I guess I am still trying to figure what I want to do, in a way. I did print off this weeks instructions to use for later. Thanks again Marika, I hope you get to feeling your full potential by the CGAG day! Hers some:kettle:mug Then a . Make sure to keep your close. And here's some to make you better faster so every thing will be . Does anyone know if Linda made it home safe and sound?
missmaxx Posted August 10, 2008 Hi everyone, The games are in progress and I've been truly impressed with the work our "snowflake makers" are doing! Keep up the good work! Now to add a real challenge....... I saw this little flake and thought, "It's perfect!" Small enough that I might get time to make one and pretty enough to love the finished result.
