Stone Path Hat

My husband came to me several weeks ago and asked if I could make something for the wife of a guy he works with who had been recently diagnosed with cancer. I thought about doing a lapghan, but was already in the midst of several large projects with Christmas deadlines. I thought a hat might be better since she'd be going through chemo during the winter months. As soon as I spotted the Stone Path Hat pattern in the latest issue of Interweave Crochet I knew I wanted to try it out so that's what I decided on for her. I used Caron Simply Soft in Truffle. I made the largest size just to be on the safe side and it took about 1.5 skeins of yarn. I would say it took me about a week and a half to make. Apparently she really likes it and hasn't taken it off since she got it!

Here's my Geof modeling it for me:
