Stash-busting scarves

I'm trying desperately to shrink my stash (and failing miserably, i might add, as i buy more than i use) but the good news is that i've discovered all sorts of fun yarns that i forgot about.

in the interest of working on that stash and teaching a couple people to crochet (including my mother) i've made several of these scarves. here are 3 of them, although not my favorites (i gave those away already and never think to take pics first:P)

it's a nice project to learn on because they are forgiving of mistakes and look great in whatever color scheme you choose. and for me it's fun and easy - i made 6 of them for my little one's daycare teachers while i was teaching them. oh yeah, and now my mom's "hooked" too so i have someone to shop for yarn with!

thank you! and i agree, my grandma laughed and said she tried to get her to crochet many times, but she never really wanted to learn so eventually grandma helped me learn and now we've come full circle!
