sc2tog

How would I do this stitch? I thought perhaps it was a pattern specific stitch, but this pattern does not explain.

Also, does this stitch have a specific name?

sc2tog is an abbreviation for "single crochet 2 together." This tells you to use single crochet to join two stitches together to decrease.

To sc2tog: insert your hook into a stitch and draw up a loop. Then insert your hook into the next stitch and draw up a loop. Finally, yarn over (yo) and draw through all 3 loops on your hook.

Sandi has good tutorials on most crochet stuff

This webpage shows you the stitch being made.

Calling it sc2tog is a fairly new term in crochet as it was always called sc dec(rease) before. I think it is an attempt to harmonize crochet terms with :knit terms.
