Michigan bound....any good yarn stores???

I am flying out to Michigan this week and wondered if anyone from there knows of some great yarn stores to visit. I will be in the Sterling Heights area. Thanks.

It would be worth your trip to head to downtown detroit and go to City Knitting...awesome store and very crochet friendly!

Not sure what you are looking for yarnwise - but you could check out the Gibraltar Trade Center North - in Mt. Clemens. There's a section called "Lace and More"....and they have great deals on yarn - but only a great deal if they have something you would want.

About an hour drive north of Sterling Heights is Mary Maxim. They are located in Port Huron and they have LOTS of yarn. About a mile north of Mary Maxim is a Hobby Lobby.

Oh, I had forgotten about that. We went up to Sarnia, Ont for the day while I was there (actually we walked along the lake side and never made it into Sarnia). I saw the sign for Mary Maxim on the way there, but we were a little confused about where it was. That is great tho....I have never been to a Hobby Lobby either. Thanks.

I just realized I was there last summer. Is it a large flea market type thing? I bought some lovely Kiss yarn for 75 cents a ball...hmmm, wonder where I put it, lol.
