Question about felting

I bought two skeins of wool yarn today. One in pink and one in gold. I sat down to crochet and was about to use my black acrylic for an edge when I was like... woah will this work??

 

 

Is it possible to use acrylic with wool? Will it do weird things?

well, I have had problems with using acrylic on felted items as it does not shrink! so personaly I would not use it, I managed to mix some in a felted bag and it came out a really strange shape as the wool either side of the band of acrylic felted and shrunk...! yikes!

if you are looking to felt the wool , the acrylic will not shrink and felt. You can use it together if you want to create texture or patterns in the wool that you don't want to felt.

It won't felt, but you can creat interesting texture when using it next to wool that will felt. I would make swatch and play around with the mixture to see what happens!
