pinapple block

Question

:scrachin I started to make a pinapple block today, it is a very easy pattern , but did you know you can lose a whole row if when you start the pineapple you do your first 8 dc then the next row you dc ch 1 in the 8 dc , then your next row is ch 3 in the dc so I put my ch 3 in the ch 1 spaces instead of the top of the dc not thinking it would make a difference when I got to row 12 I didnt have one I had to skip 12 and go to 13. now does that make sence? If not I still lost a row and the pinapple looks good, and the block is even, I have made this pattern before and this is the first time it happened, my next one I will do the way I done all the rest, But will make one to match this one for a pillow.

Has this happened to anyone else or have I lost it?:blush

Nope, you haven't lost it. :) I've seen pineapple patterns written both ways - the first row of ch 3's in the dc's & the first row *between* the dc's. Either way works & looks good - you just lose a row doing it the second way, as you discovered. :think I think the second way makes the pineapples look a bit lacier - sc between the dc's makes them pull apart a little. :hook Sounds like you're working on a lovely project.:manyheart
