Hairpin Lace

Okay I am not sure if there is one somewhere but I was wondering if there was some kind of instruction on how to complete the hairpin lace. What I mean is is I know how to do the hairpin lace but when you get to the end of your row and then want to start joining or connecting. I am sure someone out there knows. Can't wait to hear back from you guys.
