I found out how to prevent the afghan curl!

Question

I found how to prevent the curl on the afghan stitch.

The web site below gives a picture tutorial on how to prevent the curl.

I have made my first attempt at it, and my stitches are kind of long in one area, but this particular step is only needed for the first 1 or 2 rows of an afghan stitch project.

I am practicing on a wash/dishcloth. I hope to get better with practice.

I have wondered for YEARS how to prevent that curling.

If you go to this site to use these instructions, pay attention to the area where she instructs you where to place/hang your thread for the purl row.

That's what prevents the curl.

Yall are welcome.

My dishcloth is coming along. This technique does prevent the curl on the

beginning end.

I think when I get the dishcloth the length I want I'm going to repeat that special row before I bind it off.

Then I am going to sc around the whole cloth.
