Basketweave Scarf

I finally finishes a basketweave scarf for my BIL's birthday. I used Lion Suede. Found a really pretty variegated color called "vineyard". The picture really doesn't do it justice because my lighting is terrible in my apartment but hopefully you can see the stitches :)

I used a simple basketweave pattern for this...

Here's how :)

Chain 19

ROW 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch across; turn - 17 sts

ROW 2 & 3: Ch 2, skip first st; fpdc in next 3 sts; bpdc in next 3 sts; fpdc in next 3 sts; bpdc in next 3 sts; fpdc in next 3 sts; hdc in top of beg ch; turn

ROW 4 & 5: Ch 2, skip first st, bpdc in next 3 sts; fpdc in next 3 sts; bpdc in next 3 sts; fpdc in next 3 sts; bpdc in next 3 sts; hdc in top of beg ch; turn

Just repest rows 2-5 until you have the length you desire

Its really simple once you get a hang of the pattern :)

Lovely scarf - I love the basket weave, it looks really textured and makes a scarf thick and warm.
