Scarf For a Friend

Hello,

 

I made this scarf for a friend of mine. Months ago (uh, when it was actually scarf weather! ), she had seen a scarf on the street and was gushing to me about it. It was a black, lacy scarf with colorful roses on it.

 

Recently, it was her birthday and even though it was 90+ degrees out, I decided I'd make her that scarf so that she could wear it next winter.

 

The scarf was done without a pattern. Just an open shell stitch ( previously wrote v-stitch, but this was done in a shell!). I crocheted flowers in various sizes that I just sort of winged. I was going to make roses, but I didn't like the way that they looked on the scarf, so I opted for kind of a mix of made up flowers.

The scarf is very, very long. Probably about 6 feet total.

 

I adjusted the brightness and contrast in the pictures so that you can actually see the stitches. the color in the FIRST picture is closest to reality.

She loves the scarf and is excited to wear it in... 6 mos or so

WOW! I love it! The flowers are a great touch and really set off the black!
