Angel Blanket for Granddaughter

I made this blanket last year for my yet-to-be-born granddaughter.

The blanket is from page 45 of Leisure Arts "Contest Favorites Baby Afghans"

Here's the finished blanket:

Here's the blanket with my new-born granddaughter the day she came home from the hospital (2 days old):

At 6 months:

And here is is today (well, a couple of weeks ago, actually, when she was 1 year old):

The wings are loop stitch which makes a very feathery look and feel.

Thanks for looking.

I have the same booklet and was considering making that pattern. I was worried though that the children would pull on the loops and stretch them out. Has that happened with your blanket? Your granddaughter is a cutie pie. She has really grown over the past year.

The loops don't stretch out - the only problem I've seen is that, after washing, some of the loops have to be pulled out to even them out - normal use doesn't seem to affect it.

Is there a number on the book? I've found two online.

What a beautiful job & babe.

My daughter is in Hawaii and this would be fantastic should she ever decide to have a little one.
