Looking for a granny hat pattern

They don't really need a "pattern". FInd your favorite granny square, make 5 of them. ( when using worsted weight yarn, I do 3 rounds) sew 4 together to make a strip, then sew the ends together to make an open circle, stitch the this to the 5th square matching on granny from the circle to each side of the 5th square , making a "box" with one end open, single crochet ( or half double crochet if you like that better) around the open edge to make a band around the hat. It's done.

I have a Granny Square hat Pattern in my new book, Positively Crochet. Several people have ordered it, and in case you are one of them, I just wanted to let you know. It has braids attached to the sides, and the braids can be thrown around the neck as a scarf. Of course you don't have to put the braids on it, but they are cute!
