What stitch made you "cry", but now you think "Why was that so hard?"

We've all had "those" stitches that drove us nuts trying to learn (or maybe we avoided them) because they looked/were difficult!

Which stitch made you cry, or maybe you avoided it, but now that you have "it down", you wonder what all the fuss was about?

For me it's been the Front Post Double Treble crochet stitch. I've had this pattern for over a year now and have steadfastly "avoided" it thinking it was way to advanced for me to even try.

This past weekend, I started it and am now asking "Why didn't I just dive in earlier? It really isn't hard at all."

When I first started crocheting, I could not, for the life of me, get the Treble Crochet stitch. I finally found the old stitchguide.com and watched the video over and over again until I finally figured it out. Incidentally, where did that old stitchguide.com go? Someone said it's now in anniesattic.com, but the one under there doesn't have the videos -- or at least it didn't...

On Annie's attic, along the left side, under Community, click on Stitching Help. Scroll down, pick a stitch, click. You will see drawings showing how it's done, as well as a Quicktime logo with words alongside (I clicked on treble stitch, and there were 2 movies, TR and TR decrease). Click on the hyperlinked word next to the Quicktime logo to see the movie (of course you will need to load Quicktime if you don't have it already).

There is another site with videos, http://www.nexstitch.com/

Click on "Free Crochet Videos" in the top left corner, then choose "traditional" or "tunisian", then pick a stitch. This site lets you pick Quicktime or Windows Media format.

Have fun.

The first time I tried a pineapple, it refused to work. so I left them alone for a long time, even though I had a handful of patterns with pineapples, that I loved. Finally I jumped in and tried again. Asking all the way, What's so hard about this?! it's practically beginner stuff! :rofl Now I've designed a skirt in pineapples. :lol

Reverse sc (crab stitch). I knew how to make it, but it just never turned out looking right. Still doesn't. But, thanks to someone who posted, I now make a 'faux crab stitch' that is really easy and looks just like crab stitch when done.

Right now it's the double treble and the popcorn stitches -- both needed in the pattern for Katchkan's (Kathy's) Viceroy Butterfly Shawl. I still hate the double treble and it makes me squirm and then cry.

Ditto, I don't like crab stitch. I don't even like the NAME of it! :yuck I don't know that I ever decided its not so bad after all....I can't remember the last time I did it. But I do know that I always thought "Oh No!" whenever a pattern called for it.
