Favorite hook size? I'm an "H".

I put the polymer clay handles on ALL OF MY HOOKS> so much more comfortable :) And fun to do. So I really don't have a fav as far as feel goes, but I tend to use my #7 steel hook the most lately - do more thread than yarn.

Fav would be a gold-colored Boyle "G" hook. My mom 'loaned' it to me with the words 'I'm going to need that back when youre done with it.' That was 30 years ago. And Im still not done with it!

I alternate between J and K for afghans with WW yarn, with J being my favorite.

I'd have to say anything from a G on up. But most of the projects I've done seem to call for G or H. I'm a "knife-hold" person and have never been able to use the steel hooks with thread. They seem to require the other hold (can't remember what it's called) and I've never been able to master it. And my hooks HAVE TO be Boye hooks. I've tried, but just can't use the Susan Bates ones. I guess it's all in what we learn with.

I use mostly 7 with size 10 thread, but when I am doing smaller threads I will use down to a 14.....for yarn it is a F or G depending on the yarn..

My fave hook is a Hero....I only have one of them and it is a size H...I don't even know where I got it from:think, but I love it:manyheart!

For thread it is a 7/1.65mm - For my totes it is a G7/4.5mm but for any other yarn it is a F or G.

I mostly use a G hook but I've got every size known to man. That is what happens when you lose them all, then finally give in, go buy new ones, get home and the lost ones are now easy to find. Geeeez.

For yarn I really like my K hook....just something about the feel of it, and the shape of the hook part. Plus it's a pretty light blue color.

 

Most of the time, though, I find myself with a size 7 hook in my hand. I just LOVE thread crochet the best! I made a couple of hats with an S hook, and that felt like a ball bat in my hand!
