Oh my goodness, how cute that is!!!! Like the Native American girl afghan that was posted a couple of weeks ago, is that also a rework of the Sunbonnet Sue pattern or is it a pattern unto itself? My husband is like your daughter, he loves Oriental things. He would love this!

Like the Native American afghan I made this is based on the Sunbonnet Sue pattern from AA.

The square is pretty much one piece except for the long sleeve part, the obi sash and of course the hair flowers and butterflies in the corners.

I work the ends in as I go along as I HATE going back to do that.

For the men you could tweak the Overall Sam pattern and make them in Karate suits w/black belts or whatever color you like. I think that would make a pretty cute afghan for a man or a boy.
