peter pan coat and beret

I wanted to practice trying to follow british instructions so I made this little coat and beret. I did pretty well translating it to american terms except I couldnt figure out how to do the ruffles around the top of the coat. If anyone has done this pattern please help if not I think it turned out ok anyway:)

I sometimes have trouble following British instructions. I tend to revert to American, so often I will make a copy of the pattern and just make the changes on the page.

I got the leaflet from ebay. the pattern is from peterpan book number 290 crochet and double knitting. I also saw the book on crochet-knit.com. Thank you for your nice comment
