Cranky Crocheter

Question

I have done extensive free pattern searches... I want to see what lies outta that relm... Is there a few particular websites that are popular with the crochet crowd? Any that are delivered via e-mail? And/or illustrated?

Wasn't there talk of Rachel doing a 'for sale' site like Crochet Pattern Central? I know she has a knitting site like CPC but somehow I keep thinking she had/has a 'for sale' site. It could be my imagination tho. Rachel...you there? Care to clarify this for me?

Yes Called Crochet Pattern Round Up....

Yes, it was online for a year. Crochet Pattern Roundup. (Click the link to read details.)

In a nutshell, not enough people showed an interest to make it worthwhile.

Other than that, I agree with birdlady1 in regards to Ebay....it's the first place I usually go when in search of a pattern. I also go there if I'm just trying to remember a name of a pattern or what magazine/book it is in. It's a great resource tool.

http://www.anniesattic.com sells a lot of Crochet patterns. You can view some photos there of projects from the book

http://www.maggiescrochet.com same there, lots of books/leaflets and you can click them for several pics from them

I also just like to browse books at local bookstores, like Barnes n' Noble or Books a Million. Then I usually end up buying the ones I like from http://www.amazon.com

Art of Crochet is one of my all-time favorites. I have a passing acquaintanceship with Josi, the woman who has done all the designs on the site, and she is an excellent business woman and brilliant with crochet. All her patterns come with multiple size variations, and she's got a great set of stitch guides on the site.

On a purely self-important note, I have a few hat patterns up for sale on my website, which you can get to through the link in my signature.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that "Art of Crochet" delivers the patterns in .pdf format to your e-mail after payment clears [as do I], and that tends to be the way it's done on sites where you're purchasing patterns.

Hope this helps!

Gayle

Or you could try Etsy... there are lots of us here from Crochetville that sell our crochet patterns on Etsy, mostly delivered as a pdf file via e-mail.
